Malaysian Cat Club

The Malaysian Cat Club or Kelab Kucing Malaysia was formed and registered on November 17, 1971 by a few cat fanciers, and was formerly known as "The
Malaysian Pedigree Cat Fancy".

The founder and first President was Mr. KM Stanley KMN. Most of the early members consist of expatriates, members of the royal families and pedigree cat owners, as members of the masses are unfamiliar with what the cat fancy is all about.

As more and more awareness was created on this subject, the objectives
of the Club changed, and more emphasis was made on the welfare of the
cats as a whole. As a result, the name of the Club was subsequently
changed to the Malaysian Cat Club or Kelab Kucing Malaysia, which was
more suitable and more open to those who love and care about cats.

Prestwick-Beresford Old-Style Siamese
Breed Preservation Society
(PREOSSIA)

PREOSSIA is dedicated exclusively to the preservation of the Old-Style Siamese, its personality, intelligence, healthy genetic diversity, and moderate appearance. PREOSSIA encourages breeders to find and salvage unique, obscure Siamese lineages as a way of preserving the breed's longterm health.

PREOSSIA members include both fanciers (pet owners) and breeders. The club places ethical and humane breeding practices, particularly breeding for health, above breeding for cosmetic traits. We encourage breeders to learn selective breeding methods that conserve the genetic diversity of the breed.

All PREOSSIA members are eligible to participate in club events such as the annual Old-Style Siamese photography contest. Members also receive a newsletter six time per year, may participate in the club listserv, and receive free annual copies of the PREOSSIA Old-Style Siamese Breeders List. Subscribing Memberships are $20 per year. Youth memberships are $10 per year and youth members receive a special youth newsletter. PREOSSIA has a reciprocal membership agreement with the U.K.'s Classic Siamese Club (CSC). Members of the CSC are eligible for a FREE membership in PREOSSIA upon request.
